Corprate Bias Ratings
Expedia Group, a travel technology company, canceled its relationship with the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) over its conservative political beliefs. Expedia Group vets vendors according to LGBTQ policies and does not provide its employees with protections against viewpoint discrimination. The company covers the cost of "medically necessary transition-related care" for its employees and their children and supports the Equality Act. However, it does not discriminate against religious organizations in its charitable giving and has not used its PAC contributions for ideological purposes. For these reasons, Expedia Group receives a High Risk rating.

Expedia, a subsidiary of Expedia Group, has cut ties with ALEC due to ALEC’s conservative political beliefs (1). The company received a score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) Corporate Equality Index. Among other requirements, this means Expedia Group has pledged to vet vendors based on LGBTQ policies (2)(3).
Charitable giving (including employee matching programs) policies or practices discriminate against charitable organizations based on views or religious beliefs.
Expedia Group’s gift-matching programs permit donations to various educational institutions, including seminaries. The company permits gift matching to faith-based charities as long as “the group ensures that company contributions do not fund religious activities such as worship or proselytization” (1).
