Summary:

By complying with the HRC’s controversial demands, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts (Wyndham) increases the risk of dividing employees, alienating customers and harming shareholders. The company provides a benefits package for employees which covers transgender medical procedures for covered employees and dependents, including children. It also uses sex and gender ideology criteria in vendor selection and marketing. Wyndham forces employees to undergo multiple ideological trainings and uses its reputation, corporate funds, and political influence to support controversial sex and gender ideologies, organizations, and legislation. The company supports the Equality Act, mandates unconscious bias training for employees, and is a corporate partner of the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce. Wyndham terminated a nonprofit discount for NRA members to avoid pressure from gun control advocates. The company is planning to incorporate Diversity & Inclusion goals into the performance reviews of its senior leaders. Wyndham’s CEO, Geoff Ballotti, signed the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion pledge, which includes a commitment to promote DEI through bias education training in the workplace. However, the company does not discriminate against charitable organizations based on views or beliefs and has not used its PAC contributions for ideological purposes. For these reasons, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts receives a Medium Risk rating.
