Ajit Jain

Ajit Jain became the Vice Chair of Insurance Operations and joined the Board of Directors of Berkshire Hathaway in 2018. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Jain served as the CEO of reinsurance of Berkshire Hathaway from 2009 to 2010. Mr. Jain started his time at Berkshire Hathaway in 1986 in insurance operations. Prior to his time at Berkshire Hathaway, Mr. Jain worked at McKinsey & Co. for 9 years. In 2005, Mr. Jain founded the Jain Foundation, a non-profit that is seeking the cure for limb-girdle muscular dystrophies. He holds a Bachelor’s in Technology for IIT Kharagpur and an MBA from Harvard University. Mr. Jain has contributed $6,400 to Republican causes and $19,000 to Democratic ones.
