Biography:

James A. Winnefeld, Jr. became a Board Member of Raytheon Technologies in 2017. Prior to that, he was the Joint Chief of Staff for the United States Navy from August 2011 to 2015 and was a US Navy Admiral from 1978 to 2011. Over the course of his 37-year career in the Navy, Mr. Winnefeld served in a variety of roles including: Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Commander of U.S. Northern Command and of NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command, Commander of the U.S. Sixth Fleet, and of Allied Joint Command Lisbon. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors for Molson Coors Beverage Company, Alliance Laundry Systems LLC, CEM Defense Material LLC, Enterprise Holdings, Inc., Omni Air International LLC, and Poplicus, Inc. Mr. Winnefeld has also serves as the Chairman of the board for Cytec Defense Materials LLC since 2016. He also is the Co-Chairman and Co-Founder of the SAFE Project, a non-profit organization. Mr. Winnefeld is on the Board of Trustees for the Georgia Tech Foundation, Inc. and the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation. Along with these roles, he is on the Board of Advisors for the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a professor in Georgia Tech’s International Affairs program. Mr. Winnefeld serves on the Board of Directors for the U.S. Naval Institute and The Crawford Group, Inc. In 2022, Mr. Winnefeld was appointed by President Joe Biden to be the Chair of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.
