Michael R. McAlevey

Michael R. McAlevey has served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of HCA Healthcare since 2022. Prior to this appointment, Mr. McAlevey was with General Electric Company for 19 years, serving in multiple senior leadership positions. His most recent role at GE was as the global General Counsel and Business Development leader for GE Healthcare, based in Chicago, IL. Prior to GE Healthcare, McAlevey served as global General Counsel and Business Development leader for GE Aviation, based in Cincinnati, OH. He started his GE career in 2003 as GE’s chief corporate, securities, and governance counsel. Before joining GE, McAlevey served as Deputy Director of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Corporation Finance from 1998 to 2002. Prior to that, he was a partner with Alston & Bird, LLP from 1990 to 1998 and an adjunct professor of law at the Georgetown University Law Center from 1999 to 2002. Mr. McAlevey serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Washington & Lee University.
