Richard B. Payne, Jr.

Richard B. Payne, Jr joined the Board of Directors at Wells Fargo in 2019. Mr. Payne served as the Vice Chairman of Wholesale Banking at U.S. Bancorp from 2010 to 2016 and Vice Chairman of Corporate Banking from 2006 to 2010. Before joining U.S. Bancorp, Mr. Payne served as the Executive Vice President for National City Corporation from 2001 to 2006 and Managing Director of Forest and Paper Products at First Union Corporation from 1999 to 2001 and in various roles of increasing responsibility in corporate banking at NationsBank Corporation and NCNB Corporation from 1991 to 1999. Mr. Payne previously served on the Board of Directors at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association and the U.S. Bank Foundation, and a former member of the Financial Services Roundtable.
