Alberto G. Musalem
Alberto Musalem has served as a Board Member of Freddie Mac since June 2021. He served as Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Evince Asset Management LP from 2018 to 2022, an investment manager that he began work on in 2017 and co-founded in 2018. Prior to Evince, Mr. Musalem served as Executive Vice President and Senior Advisor to the President at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York from 2014 to 2017, where he led the Integrated Policy Analysis and the Emerging Markets and International Affairs Groups and served on the Bank’s Management Committee. He held various senior positions at Tudor Investment Corporation from 2000 to 2013, including Global Head of Research, Managing Director, and Partner. He also served on the firm’s Management, Capital Allocation, and Strategy Committees. Mr. Musalem was an economist at the International Monetary Fund from 1996 to 2000, working with IMF teams and country authorities to manage through the emerging market financial crises of the late 1990’s. He also worked at Bankers Trust in 1995 and McKinsey & Co. in 1994. Mr. Musalem is a member of the board of Man Group plc. He serves on the Distinguished Advisory Group of the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of School the World from 2012 to 2015. Mr. Musalem is Adjunct Professor of finance at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and was Adjunct Professor of international financial markets at Johns Hopkins’ School of Advanced International Studies in 2007. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Economic Club of New York. Mr. Musalem holds a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, a MSc from London School of Economics, and a BSc from London School of Economics.
