Biography:

Bernard A. Harris, Jr. serves as President and CEO of Vesalius Ventures Inc, a venture capital accelerator. He became a Board Member of Raytheon Technologies in April 2021. He began his career at NASA working as an Astronaut from 1990 to 2010. Dr. Harris was also Vice President of SPACEHAB Inc. and Vice President of Business Development for Space Media Inc. Dr. Harris has also served on many Boards of Directors for non-profit organizations. In 2009 he was elected Vice President of the American Telemedicine Association and then elected as President of the same organization from 2011 to 2012. Dr. Harris joined the Board of Directors for the National Math and Science Initiative in 2007 and served as the CEO of the NMSI from 2018 to 2023. In 1998, Dr. Harris founded the Harris Foundation where he has served as president since its inception. Dr. Harris also serves on the board for the Texas Medical Center and the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine. Dr. Harris currently serves on the board for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance and U.S. Physical Therapy.
