Biography:

Daniel J. Hilferty has served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Comcast Spector in 2023. Mr. Hilferty also serves as the Governor of Philadelphia. Before joining Comcast, Mr. Hilferty lead Philadelphia’s successful bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2026 and serves as Chairman of Philadelphia Soccer 2026. From 2010 to 2020, Mr. Hilferty served as the Chief Executive Officer of Independence Health Group and was Chairman of the Board at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and was a member of the Executive Committee of America’s Health Insurance Plans. Prior to his time at Independence Health, Mr. Hilferty served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of AmeriHealth Caritas. In 1994, Hilferty ran unsuccessfully as one of 8 candidates seeking the Democratic Party nomination as Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania. From 1990 to 1992, Hilferty was the executive director of PennPorts in the administration of Governor of Pennsylvania Robert P. Casey. Mr. Hilferty previously served on the Board of Directors at the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia.
