Biography:

Admiral James O. Ellis Jr. joined the Board of Directors at Lockheed Martin in November 2004. He has also been a Board Member for Dominion Resources, Inc. since 2013 and currently holds an appointment as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Management Science and Engineering at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. Previously he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations from May 2005 to May 2012. He served from 2006 to 2009 on the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board and was on the Military Advisory Panel to the Iraq Study Group in 2006. Mr. Ellis served the United States Navy from 1969 to 2004. He held the position of Commander, United States Strategic Command from 2002 to 2004, having held several other commands throughout his naval career. Mr. Ellis formerly was Chairman of the Board of the Space foundation and a former Chairman of the Board of Level 3 Communications. In 2018 he was appointed Chairman of the User’s Advisory Group to the Vice President’s National Space Council.
