John David Rainey

John David Rainey became the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Walmart, Inc. in May 2022. Mr. Rainey is also currently serving on Nasdaq’s Board of Directors and has been since 2017. Mr. Rainey served as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Global Customer Operations at PayPal from 2015 to 2022. Prior to PayPal, Mr. Rainey served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at United Airlines from 2012 to 2015 and Senior Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis from 2010 to 2012. Mr. Rainey’s longest tenure came at Continental Airlines, where he served as the Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis from 1997 to 2010. Currently, Mr. Rainey is also member of Baylor University Hankamer School of Business’s advisory board.
