Biography:

Karen Dougherty Buchholz has served as the Executive Vice president of Administration at Comcast since 2020. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Buchholz served as the Chief Diversity Officer of Comcast from 2019 to 2020 and Senior Vice President of Administration from 2014 to 2020. Ms. Buchholz was the executive in charge of developing Comcast’s Technology Center and oversaw the development of the Comcast Center from 2005 to 2008 and established Comcast’s first corporate communications infrastructure from 2000 to 2003. Before joining Comcast, Ms. Buchholz was appointed by then-Mayor Edward G. Rendell to be the President of Philadelphia 2000 and served as a served as Special Assistant to State Treasurer Barbara Hafer during her 1990 gubernatorial bid. From 1988-1990, Karen was Special Assistant to United States Senator John Heinz in Washington, D.C. Ms. Buchholz has served on the Board of Directors at WSFS Financial Corporation since 2016, is a member of the Board of Directors at FS Credit Real Estate Income Trust and is Chair of the Board at the Philadelphia Convention and Visitor Bureau (chair) and previously served on the Board of Trustees at Beneficial Bank from 2009 to 2014. Ms. Buchholz serves on the Board of Trustees at Drexel University, is a member of the University of Pennsylvania’s Trustees’ Council of Penn Women, a member of the Global Board of Directors at Women in Cable Telecommunications, and previously served on the board at the Museum of the American Revolution.
