Katherine Baicker

Katherine Baicker, Ph.D., is the Provost of the University of Chicago and Emmett Dedmon Professor at the Harris School of Public Policy. Prior to her current role, she served as Dean of the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy. Before joining the University of Chicago, Baicker held positions at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Dartmouth College. She also served as a member of the Council of Economic Advisers in the Executive Office of the President, where she Contributed to health policy development. Baicker holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Yale University and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University. She is actively involved in various advisory and trustee roles, including the Congressional Budget Office, National Institute for Health Care Management Foundation, Mayo Clinic, and National Opinion Research Center. Baicker is an elected member of prestigious organizations such as the National Academy of Medicine, National Academy of Social Insurance, Council on Foreign Relations, and American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
