Biography:

Michael Delaney became the Chief Aerospace Safety Officer and Senior Vice President of Boeing in January 2021. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Confident Travel Initiative from March 2020 to December 2020, the Vice President of Digital Transformation from 2017 to 2020, and the Vice President of Airplane Development from 2016 to 2017. Previously, Mr. Delaney also served as the Vice President of Engineering from 2010 to 2016, Vice President of 787 Chief Project Engineer from 2008 to 2010, and the Vice President of 747/767/777 Engineering 2007 to 2008. He has worked several other roles in Boeing including the Vice President of Commercial Airplanes Test & Validation in 2006, the Chief Project Engineer 737 from 2003 to 2006, the Direct Engineering of the SFAR 88 Compliance and FRS Development from 2002 to 2003, the Director Flight and Lab Test of Douglas Products Division from 1999 to 2000, and Director 717 Flight and Lab Test Program from 1998 to 1999. Prior to that, Mr. Delaney worked at McDonnell Douglas as a Senior Manager Engineering of Flight and Lab Test from 1997 to 1998, an Engineering Manager from 1994 to 1997, and an Aerospace Manager from 1988 to 1994. He began his career as an engineer at Grunman Aerospace from 1986 to 10988. Mr. Delaney also serves as the Chairman of the Board for Washington STEM and on the Board of Trustees at Hofstra University.
