Q: “This summer policing has been on everyone's minds, and the protests this past summer against police violence have been hailed as the largest and longest in American history. Do you think that this particular moment can or will create real change with regards to police reform?” A: “Well, it certainly can, and I think we'll wait and see if it does. There has already been some change in ordinances that primarily cities have passed on no knock warrants and chokeholds, but I think we need far broader reforms than just that. And I'll back up to bit just to say because of my age, I'm old enough to say that in my lifetime, I've never seen anything like the record number of protests, all 50 states, people of all ages, all backgrounds, all races, saying that Black Lives matter, and that's a good thing.”
