William H. McRaven

William H. McRaven joined the Board of Directors at ConocoPhillips in 2018. McRaven is also a Senior Advisor at Lazard Financial and a member of the Advisory Board at Palantir Technologies Inc. McRaven is a retired Navy Admiral, serving from 1977 to 2014. During his time in the Navy, Mr. McRaven served as the 11th commander of Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) headquartered at Fort Bragg, North Carolina from 2008 to 2011 and as commander, Special Operations Command Europe from 2006 to 2008. McRaven served his last assignment as the ninth commander of United States Special Operations Command, headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. McRaven serves on the Council on Foreign Relations, the National Football Foundation, the International Crisis Group, and The Mission Continues. From 2015 to 2018, McRaven served as Chancellor at the University of Texas System.
