Ares Management Company, vets vendors according to LGBTQ policies and integrates ESG into all of its business practices. However, it has not publicly terminated business relationships based on views or beliefs. Ares Management’s CEO signed the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion pledge, which includes a commitment to promote DEI through bias education training in the workplace (1). The company is a corporate partner of the NGLCC (2). Ares Management requires its employees to complete unconscious bias training and promotes its LGBTQ ERG “Out at Ares” (3)(4). Ares Management partners with “Out for Undergrad” an LGBTQ2+ undergrad conference network and is a member of “Out Investors”, an LGBT+ investment professionals’ network (5)(6). Ares Management publicly celebrates Pride Month by hosting panel discussions, showcases, and social events for its employees (7). Ares Management held an event “Stronger Together: The Power of Solidarity” inviting speakers from the ACLU to speak on the history and significance of Pride month (8). Ares Management hosted an interactive discussion in celebration of Pride month and what solidarity and allyship look like for Black and LGBTQ+ communities (9).
