CareFirst/ BlueCross & BlueShield which is a healthcare company, has not publicly terminated business relationships based on views or beliefs. CareFirst does not make donations to religious organizations and does not protect its employees from viewpoint discrimination. CareFirst signed the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion pledge, works with its providers to address unconscious bias, and has publicly supported the BLM and LGBTQ communities. This score indicates the company covers the cost of “medically necessary transition-related care” for its employees and their children (1)(2).During Pride Month, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts wrapped 100 city bikes in rainbow pride-themed designs and donated $1 to Fenway for each ride (3)(4). Blue Cross will fund employees’ travel expenses to get an abortion and funds projects focused exclusively on LGBTQ youth (5)(6).
