Summary:
Shipt does not protect employees from viewpoint discrimination but has not terminated business relationships due to views or beliefs. Target, its parent company, has pledged to vet vendors for LGBTQ policies. Shipt has policies that discriminate against religious organizations. Shipt advocates for transgender participation in youth sports. Shipt has donated directly to Black Lives Matter and the Human Rights Campaign. Target, which handles all political contributions, has also donated to the Equality PAC. For these reasons, Shipt receives a High Risk rating.

Shipt has not publicly terminated business relationships due to religious or political beliefs. However, Target, the parent company of Shipt, received a score of 100 on the Corporate Equality Index from the HRC. Among other requirements, this means the company has pledged to vet vendors based on LGBTQ policies (1).

Shipt donated $150,000 to the ACLU and matched employee donations of $50,000 to Black Lives Matter in light of “institutionalized racial injustice” (1). Shipt donated $10,000 to the Human Rights Campaign (2). Shipt announced a donation of $1 million over 5 years to The Birmingham Promise as part of its DE&I initiatives (3)(4).
