Tripadvisor pulled ads from Laura Ingrahm's show in 2018 due to her criticisms of the political views of a Parkland shooting survivor. The company vets vendors according to LGBTQ policies and does not protect its employees against viewpoint discrimination. Tripadvisor supports the Equality Act and opposes anti-LGBTQ legislation. The company advocated for federal legislation that would overrule state laws designed to protect girls' sports but does not discriminate against religious organizations in its charitable giving. The company covers the cost of "medically necessary transition-related care” for its employees and their children but has not lobbied for ideological causes. For these reasons, Tripadvisor receives a Medium Risk rating.

Tripadvisor supports the Equality Act and has signed various letters from the HRC opposing “anti-LGBTQ” state legislation (1)(2) The company was part of the Freedom for All Americans coalition, which advocated for federal legislation that would overrule state laws designed to protect girls’ sports and similar laws (3). Tripadvisor opposed the Florida Parental Rights in Education law, which prohibits teaching gender identity and sexual orientation to children in K-3rd grade (4). The company also dropped its advertisements on conservative television host Laura Ingraham’s show amidst controversy in 2018 (5).
