UCare has a written policy pledging to vet vendors for LGBTQ policy and will not donate to religious organizations. UCare uses its corporate reputation to advance LGBTQ causes and support abortion. UCare is committed to being an "anti-racist" organization. For these reasons, UCare receives a Medium Risk rating.

In 2021, UCare hired Joy Marsh, who has a history of fighting for transgender equity in healthcare, to lead all DEI initiatives (1). UCare covers gender transitions and “affirming treatment” as allowed by the law (2)(3). The company is committed to being an “anti-racist” company (4). Fighting structural racism is one of the priorities of the UCare Foundation (5). The company provides Gender Identity Forms for non-binary and transgender-identifying individuals (6). UCare offers the abortion drug mifepristone (7).
