In June 2024, Scale’s CEO Alexandr Wang release an article in defense of meritocracy because it is “good for business and is the right thing to do.” Wang also condemned racial and gender preferences in hiring stating “We will not pick winners and losers based on someone being the “right” or “wrong” race, gender, and so on.
