Biography:

Frederick Waddell has been on the Board of Directors for IBM since October 2017 and AbbVie Inc. since 2013. He also serves on the boards the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Northwestern University, The First Tee, and the Kellogg Finance Network. He is an Emeritus Board Member for United Way of Metro Chicago and Kohl Children’s Museum. Previously he served the Northern Trust Corporation as Chairman from November 2009 to January 2019; Chief Executive Officer from 2008 to 2017; President from October 2016 to December 2016 and again from 2006 to 2011; Chief Operating Officer from 2006 to 2008; and Head of Corporate & Institutional Services Business Unit from March 2003 to February 2006. He first joined Northern Trust in 1975 and held various leadership positions. Mr. Waddell has previously served on the boards of the Corporate Fund, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the Executive Club of Chicago, the Economic Club of Chicago, the Chicago Urban League, the Chicago Community Trust and the Metropolitan Planning Council.
