Biography:

Gary Cohn has been the Vice Chairman for IBM since January 2021. He is also on the Advisory Board for Pallas Advisors, Starling Insights (since April 2020), and Spring Labs (since October 2018). Mr. Cohn has been on the Board of Directors for Machine Zone since January 2019 and ABYRX since November 2018. Previously he was the Director of the National Economic Council and Assistant to the President for Economic Policy from January 2017 to April 2018. Before this he was Goldman Sachs President and Chief Operating Officer from June 2006 to 2016; Co-head of Global Securities Businesses from December 2003 to June 2006; Co-Head of Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities Division (FICC) from September 2002 to December 2003; Co-Chief Operating Officer of FICC from 1999 to 2002; and Head of Commodities from 1996 to 1999. He first joined Goldman Sachs in 1990 and became a partner in 1994. Before his time at Goldman Sachs Mr. Cohn was a Trader on the New York Commodities Exchange from 1982 to 1990. He began his career at U.S. Steel in 1982.
