Biography:

Joseph Swedish has been on the Board of Directors for IBM since November 2017 and CDW since August 2015. He has served on the Board of Directors for Centrexion Therapeutics Corp since 2018, has been Chairman of the Board for Mesoblast Limited since 2018, and has served on the Board of Visitors for Duke University since 2014. Mr. Swedish has been Co-Founder and Partner of Concord Health Partners since 2018 and became a Partner Emeritus in February 2023. Previously he served Anthem, Inc. as a Senior Advisor from 2018 to April 2020 and Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer from 2013 to November 2017. He was President and Chief Executive Officer of Trinity Health from 2005 to 2013; President and Chief Executive Officer of Centura Health from 1999 to 2005; President and Chief Executive Officer for the Central Florida Division and East Florida Division of HCA Healthcare from 1994 to 1998; President and Chief Executive Officer of Winter Park Memorial Hospital and Park Health Corp from 1992 to 1994; President and Chief Executive Officer of Mary Washington Hospital from 1987 to 1992; and Chief Executive Officer of Horizon HealthCorp from 1985 to 1987. Mr. Swedish was on the Advisory Council for the Center for Inclusive Governance from September 2021 to June 2023. He also held various Committee roles for the American Hospital Association from 1999 to 2013.
