Biography:

Shelly O’Neill Stoneman became Senior Vice President of Government Affairs for Lockheed Martin in August 2023. Prior to this she worked for BAE Systems Inc. as a Board Member from April 2021 to July 2023; Senior Vice President, Government Relations from April 2021 to July 2023; Vice President, Executive Branch and International Government Relations from April 2014 to April 2021; and Vice President, International Government Relations from July 2013 to April 2014. Before joining BAE Systems, Ms. Stoneman served as Special Assistant to the Secretary of Defense/White House Liaison from May 2011 to July 2013. Previously she was Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs from January 2009 to May 2011. From November 2008 to January 2009, she was the Congressional Liaison for National Security for the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition Team. Before this Ms. Stoneman served the House of Representatives as Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of Congressman Steve Rothman from May 2005 to January 2009 and as a Legislative Assistant, Office of Congressman Steve Rothman from December 2003 to May 2005. She was a Research Consultant for Small Arms Survey from February 2003 to December 2003, and a Conflict Resolution Advisor for Balkan Sunflowers in 2001. She began her career as Staff Assistant, Subcommittee, International Security, Proliferation, and Federal Services for the United States Senate from 1999 to 2000. Ms. Stoneman has served on the board of Food for Others since October 2019 and the USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore since October 2018 and is currently the Committee Chair for the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services. She previously served on the boards of Leadership Council for Women in National Security, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, and CSIS Smart Women, Smart Power.
