David R. Heppner

David R. Heppner has been Senior Vice President of Strategy, Business, & Development at Marathon Petroleum since 2021 and Senior Vice President of MPLX GP LLC since 2022. Between 2018 and 2021, he was Vice President of Commercial and Business Development at Marathon Petroleum and held positions of Vice President of Transition and Senior Vice President of Engineering Services and Corporate Support at Speedway from 2014 to 2018. He was Director of Wholesale Marketing at Marathon Petroleum from 2010 to 2014. Heppner’s career also includes roles at Emro Marketing, the predecessor of Speedway, from 1995 to 2010, and various positions at Marathon Petroleum from 1988 to 1995. Currently, Heppner serves on the Board of Trustees at Ohio Northern University and the Board of Directors at Habitat for Humanity. He previously served as President of the Board of Trustees at United Way of Clark, Champaign, and Madison Counties, Vice President of Membership at the Boy Scouts of America Black Swamp Council, and Campaign Chairman at Clark County March of Dimes. He was also a member of the Board of Governors at the Children’s Miracle Network, the Board of Trustees at Dayton Children’s Hospital Foundation, and the External Advisory Board for the Wright State University College of Engineering and Computer Science.
