Marathon Petroleum

Michael J. Hennigan has served as the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Management Director of Marathon Petroleum since 2020. Mr. Hennigan has also served as the Chief Executive Officer of MPLX since 2019 and President and Director since 2017. In 2017, Mr. Hennigan served as President of Crude NGL and Refined Products. From 2012 to 2017, Mr. Hennigan served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sunoco Logistics Partners and President and Chief Operating Officer from 2010 to 2012 and Vice President of Business Development from 2009 to 2010. From 2008 to 2009, Mr. Hennigan served as the Senior Vice President of Business Improvement at Sonoco and Senior Vice President of Supply, Trading, Sales and Transportation from 2006 to 2008 and Vice President of Product Trading, Sales, and Supply from 2001 to 2006 and General Manager of Northeast Refining Wholesale Fuels Marketing and Product Supply from 2000 to 2001 and in Managing and Engineering roles from 1981 to 2000. Mr. Hennigan is on the Board of Directors at Nutrien Ltd. Since 2022 and previously served on the boards of Tesoro Logistics GP, LLC from 2018 to 2019 and Philadelphia Energy Solutions LLC.

John P. Surma has served as the Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors at Marathon Petroleum since 2020, originally joining the board in 2011. From 2006 to 2013, Mr. Surma served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at U.S. Steel and President and Chief Executive Officer from 2004 to 2006 and President and Chief Operating Officer from 2003 to 2004 and Vice Chief Financial Officer from 2002 to 2003. Prior to the separation of U.S. Steel and Marathon, Mr. Surma served as the President of Marathon Ashland Petroleum from 2001 to 2002 and Senior Vice President of Supply and Transportation of Marathon Ashland from 2000 to 2001 and President of Speedway SuperAmerica from 1998 to 200 and Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting of Marathon Oil from 1997 to 1998. Ms. Surma has served on the Board of Directors at Public Service Enterprise Group since 2019, Trane Technologies plc. Since 201, and MPLX GP LLC since 2012. Mr. Surma previously served on the Board of Directors at Concho Resources Inc. from 2014 to 2020, Calgon Carbon Corporation, and Bank of New York Mellon Corporation. Mr. Surma also is a member of The Business Council, is a member of the Board of Visitors at Pennsylvania State University, Chairman at University of Pittsburg Medical Center.
