Biography:

Mark B. McClellan joined the Board of Directors at Cigna Gorup in 2018 and at Johnson & Johnson in 2013. Mr. McClellan has served on the Board of Directors at Alignment Healthcare since 2014 and has served as Director and Professor of Business, Medicine, and Policy at Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy since 2016. Mr. McClellan served as Director of Initiatives on Value and Innovation in Health Care at The Brookings from 2013 to 2015 and Senior Fellow in Economic Studies from 2007 to 2015 and Director of Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform from 2007 to 2013. Mr. McClellan served as Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Economics and Department of Medicine at Stanford from 2000 to 2007 and Director of Program on Health Outcomes Research at Stanford Medical School from 1998 to 2001 and Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Department of Medicine from 1995 to 1999. From 2004 to 2006, Mr. McClellan served as the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaaid Services under President W. Bush and Commissioner of the FDA from 2002 to 2004 and a Member of President W. Bush’s Council of Economic Advisers and Senior Director for Health Care Policy from 2001 to 2002. Mr. McClellan served as an Attending Physician in Internal Medicine at Stanford Health Care from 1995 to 2001. From 1998 to 1999, Mr. McCellan served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy under President Clinton. Mr. McClellan is a member of the Board of Directors at the Regan-Udall Foundation, ResearchAmerica!, The National Alliance for Hispanic Health, United States of Care, and a member of the National Academy of Medicine.
