Alston & Bird (A&B), a law firm, vets vendors according to LGBTQ policies and does not provide viewpoint protections for its employees. However, it has not publicly terminated business relationships based on views or beliefs. Alston & Bird covers the cost of "medically necessary transition-related care” for its employees and their children. The company has been recognized by Fortune as a leader creating diverse and inclusive work cultures. A&B is one of the founding firms of the Law Firm Sustainability Network. However, it does not discriminate against religious organizations in its charitable giving and has not used its PAC donations for ideological purposes. For these reasons, A&B receives a Medium Risk rating.

A&B ranks No. 79 in Fortune’s 2019 “100 Best Workplaces for Diversity,” and, for the third time in four years, “the firm has been recognized by Fortune as a leader among U.S. companies doing the most to create diverse and inclusive work cultures” (1). In 2022, A&B received the “Invested in Diversity Award” from U.S. Bank and is one of the founding firms of the Law Firm Sustainability Network (2)(3).
