In 2018, WordPress edited a user’s blog that “published the former name” of a transgender individual and thus violated the company’s Terms of Service, which included the dissemination of someone else’s private details (including gender identity) as a removable offense (1). The redaction of this name was allegedly privacy-related, and the company has since updated its Terms of Service (2). The WordPress Terms of Service guidelines reiterate the company’s commitment towards freedom of speech and political nonalignment.

WordPress does not have a charitable giving program at this time (1).
