DAYTON, OH — 1792 Exchange CEO Daniel Cameron releases the following statement on John Deere’s decision to move away from partisan politics and back towards neutral. The world’s top farm machinery maker came under heavy scrutiny for promoting several radical policies that have nothing to do with its business.
“I commend John Deere for pivoting to focus on best serving its customers and employees. This action will build goodwill today and in the years to come. Corporations must reject the fleeting notion that they should embrace activist agendas that only sow division. While John Deere outlined meaningful steps toward neutrality, more can be done. 1792 Exchange is here to help find those solutions, and we will continue encouraging companies to get back to the basics.”
John Deere is the second major company to back down from controversial business initiatives, joining Tractor Supply. The move comes after Cameron warned corporate America about the risks of continuing radical political activism last month. Cameron’s letter encouraged Fortune 1000 business leaders to navigate away from divisive practices.
