Lakshmi Mittal
Lakshmi Mittal joined the Board of Directors at Goldman Sachs in 2008. Mr. Mittal has served as the Executive Chairman of ArcelorMittal S.A. since 2021 and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 2008 to 2020 and President and Chief Executive Officer from 2006 to 2008. In 2004, Mr. Mittal founded Mittal Steel, which merged with Arcelor in 2006 to become ArcelorMittal. Prior to Mittal Steel, Mr. Mittal served on Executive roles within his family’s steel business which culminated into Mittal Steel following the merger of Ispat International and LNM Holdings, and the simultaneous acquisition of International Steel Group. Mr. Mittal serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Aperam and previously served on the board at Airbus N.V. Mr. Mittal is a Trustee at the Cleveland Clinic, a member of the Board of Governors at the Indian School of Business, and member of the European Round Table for Industry, Chairman of the Governing Council at LNM Institute of Information Technology and Is a member of the Harvard University Global Advisory Council, the Foreign Investment Council in Kazakhstan, and the National Investment Council of Ukraine. Mr. Mittal also is a member of the Global CEO Council of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council, the World Steel Association’s Executive Committee, and the European Round Table of Industrialist
