Biography:

William Kennard became a Board Member for AT&T in January 2021, for Ford Motor Company in 2015, and for MetLife since September 2013. He has served on the Board of Trustees for Yale Corporation since 2014, for the One Economy Corporation since 2021, and on the National Board of Advisors for High Point University since 2021. Mr. Kennard also works as the Chairman for Velocitas Partners. Previously, Mr. Kennard was appointed by President Obama to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to the European Union from 2009 to 2013. Before that, he was Managing Director of global private equity firm The Carlyle Group, overseeing investments in telecommunications and media. Prior to his time there, Mr. Kennard was Chairman of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission from 1997 to 2001, having been appointed by President Clinton. He has served in a variety of executive roles at corporations like Staple Street Capital, Duke Energy, Sprint Corporation, FON Group, The New York Times, Dex Media, Handspring, and Inc., eAccess Ltd. Mr. Kennard previously served on the Board for Gallaudet University and the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies.
