John Stankey

John Stankey has led AT&T as CEO since July 2020 after previously serving as president and chief operating officer. With nearly $121 billion in 2022 revenues, AT&T is one of the world’s largest companies in technology and telecom. Between 2018 and 2022, AT&T invested more than $140 billion in its wireless and wireline networks, including capital investments and acquisitions of wireless spectrum. It is consistently one of the top annual investors of capital in the United States.
John’s leadership is driving AT&T’s transformation and its focus on being the best connectivity provider. Since Alexander Graham Bell’s first phone call, AT&T has connected people to greater possibility – and it’s still true today with the innovative opportunities provided by 5G and fiber.
AT&T is a global leader in communications with more than 100 million U.S. mobile and broadband customers as of December 2022, including millions of business customers from the smallest companies to nearly all the Fortune 1000.
John joined AT&T in 1985 and has 37 years of accomplished leadership spanning nearly every area of AT&T’s business. He has served in a variety of roles including CEO of WarnerMedia; CEO of AT&T Entertainment Group; Chief Strategy Officer; Chief Technology Officer; CEO of AT&T Operations; and CEO of AT&T Business Solutions. He currently serves on AT&T’s board of directors.

William E. Kennard

William E. Kennard

William Kennard became a Board Member for AT&T in January 2021, for Ford Motor Company in 2015, and for MetLife since September 2013. He has served on the Board of Trustees for Yale Corporation since 2014, for the One Economy Corporation since 2021, and on the National Board of Advisors for High Point University since 2021. Mr. Kennard also works as the Chairman for Velocitas Partners. Previously, Mr. Kennard was appointed by President Obama to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to the European Union from 2009 to 2013. Before that, he was Managing Director of global private equity firm The Carlyle Group, overseeing investments in telecommunications and media. Prior to his time there, Mr. Kennard was Chairman of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission from 1997 to 2001, having been appointed by President Clinton. He has served in a variety of executive roles at corporations like Staple Street Capital, Duke Energy, Sprint Corporation, FON Group, The New York Times, Dex Media, Handspring, and Inc., eAccess Ltd. Mr. Kennard previously served on the Board for Gallaudet University and the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies.
