In 2017, Volvo pulled advertising from a Fox News show over an opinion held by the host. The company vets vendors according to LGBTQ policies and does not protect its employees against viewpoint discrimination. Volvo is part of the Global Alliance for Responsible Media and has used its corporate image to promote same-sex couples and LGBTQ ideologies. The company expanded its parental leave benefits to LGBTQ couples and has sponsored Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) events. Volvo has a written policy pledging to vet vendors for LGBTQ policies. Its Code of Conduct applies to all suppliers and includes a commitment to not discriminate on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation (5).
