Samuel N. Hazen has served as the Chief Executive Officer of HCA Healthcare since 2019 and as a director since 2018. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Hazen served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of HCA Healthcare from 2016 to 2019 and President of Operations from 2011 to 2015 and President of HCA’s western group from 2001 to 2011. From 1995 to 2001, Mr. Hazen served as the Chief Financial Officer of West Group of HCA Healthcare and Chief Financial Officer for two different divisions in the company, overseeing operations in North Texas Hazen began his career in Humana’s Financial Management Specialist Program in 1983 and has held the Chief Financial Officer position at hospitals in Georgia and Las Vegas. Mr. Hazen serves on the Board of Directors at the Nashville Health Care Council, the Federation of American Hospitals, and the HCA Healthcare Foundation.

Thomas F. Frist has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at HCA Healthcare since 2019 and has been a board member since 2006. Mr. Frist has served as member of the Board of Directors at Verisign since 2015 and has been a Managing Partner at Frist Capital LLC since he founded it in 2002. From 2013 to 2017, Mr. Frist served on the board at Science Applications International Corporation and was a member of FS Partners II LLC from 19995 to 2002 and worked in principle investment at Rainwater, Inc. from 1992 to 1995. Mr. Frist is a member of the Board of Directors at the Frist Foundation.
