Warren E. Buffett became the Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway in 1965 and has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company since 1970. Mr. Buffett was a director at The Kraft Heinz Company from 2015 to 2018 and The Coca-Cola Company from 1989 to 2006. Mr. Buffett also served on the board of IBM, Salomon, Inc. in 1987, The Washington Post Company in 1973, and Sanborn Map Company in 1961. Warren Buffett is also a founder and board member of several non-profits including the Nuclear Threat Initiative since 2002. Mr. Buffett co-founded The Giving Pledge in 2010 with Bill Gates and Founded the Buffett Foundation in 1964, which was later renamed the Susan Thomas Buffett Foundation. The Buffett Foundation has given over $1.5 billion towards abortion research. Mr. Buffett is a Life Long Trustee of Grinnell College and The Urban Institute, and previously served on the board of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation from 2006 to 2021.
